What do you pay for raw bones guys?!

Hi, just wondered those of you who feed raw what bones do you buy from the butchers and what do you pay for them? Some people seem to get raw bones free if so what do you get, thanks Smile

I get mine from Morrison's (no proper butchers where I live) so I don't get them free. But I do get them cheap! I get about 4 days worth of bones for about 70p! There's not as much meat on them as I'd like, but they're better than nothing.

i have had a few free one from the butchers, but get them online mostly as i don't like to take advantage

thanks for your replies everyone. Oh dear I didn't realise asking for bones was taking advantage (if free obviously) but instead thought they were thrown away sort of thing, learning loads from this board and you guys thank you everyone Big Grin

Some butchers will gladly give you bags of bones cause they can't get rid of them! Others will think you're being a pain in the a*se!

I think if you get a regular supply they'll soon get into the habit of saving you some good ones - you could always offer to pay a token sum & that way you can't be accused of taking advantage! Big Grin

I think I feel a bit embarassed because I rarely use the butcher full stop! I'm not a big meat eater at all and my hubby who is thinks it's pricey....it's quality at the end of the day Rolling Eyes

! I did look after him when he had an op. so that might help me out lol! I would just hate for someone to think I was taking advantage, I'd be mortified.

Will enquire, see what's what and go from there Smile

I get mine from the butchers or morrisons, free from the butchers and about 70p - £1 from morrisons.

pity i live nowhere near any of you, my mate works in an abattoir and can take as many bones as he likes, as they prefer the staff to take them so they havent got to incinerate them, he drops off loads to me at a time so i share then with my next door neighbour for his staff, and a lady up the road with two, and a lady in work for her mongrel lol Smile
