Week 2 for Caley
So we took Caley back to the vets yesterday to have the stitches out. Have really not been impressed with those stitches. Two day after surgery two fell out so they put 3 staples in, then over the weekend the top part of the wound another stitch fell out and her wound split a little, did not bleed, but it will certainly not be a pretty scar.
Anyway, they took the stitches out and the staples and said that the two wounds that were not quite healed will be OK, just have to keep making sure she does not lick them until totally healed and keep her on antibiotics for a bit longer...thank goodness for that towel and that she is OK with having it that around her neck, I think I would have been in tears had I had to keep using that plastic collar.
On the plus side they are happy with the way she is using her leg...she tried to leg it out the surgery lol...they said that she could have 5/10mins walk three tims a day, but because she tends to pull it might not be wise, best to just let her have 5/10 mins walking around the front room. So here is to the next 2 weeks of her being shut in her crate with small breaks...she is not a happy bunny and spends all day sulking and staring at us...doesn't refuse her treats though lol...

Ahhh bless her, she must be thinking that has done something wrong. The very short walks sound like a good idea to keep her legs moving that way she will not get and stiffness in the joints. So glad to hear that the towel worked moment of genius there well done.

Re: Week 2 for Caley
Kathy I could not recommend the towel more lol...no more plastic cones for me.
She does make me cringe though when she stretches her legs right out behind her (like staffies do), I think she is going to damage the work done, but the vet said it was fine...you would think it would hurt her especially as she is no longer on painkillers
