Hi everyone!
I'm mark and I own a 11 year old staff and his back legs are giving way, he is trembling and is feeling very sorry for himself. We are going to the vets tomorrow but just wondered if anyone's has had any similar problems.
Look forward to hearing from you

It sounds like you have a tick in an option box in your Notifications to receive an email for each reply, if you want to get rid of this just go up to Profile which is beside where you log out, then select Notifications and de select the appropriate box. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you had an early prognosis on the arthritis so hopefully any treatment will be beneficial. Thanks for letting us know.

in the vets opinion has arthritis in back legs

maybe goji's will help ..
apart from helping with arthritis .. they have many other health benefits ..
https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=cr&ei=7WOBUrXRMsfQtAa_pIHIDA#q=goji+berries+and+arthritis

mention of arthritis :
http://www.berriesgoji.org/

they be fine for dogs ..
( but i think not the seeds .. h.s.t. .. most are seedless )
i eat a mouthfull daily .. ( started munching them as an aid to combat back pain )
.. 'lady' gets hers mixed in with her food .. along with some coconut oil
http://naturalremedyvet.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/food-as-medicine-goji-berries.html

some places label chinese wolfberries as goji berries ..
although related .. they are not the same a.f.a.i.k

i get mine from here:
http://www.detoxyourworld.com/raw-snacks/dried-fruits-berries/goji-berries-3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
hope you 'n vet are able to get Oscar relief from the condition ..
.a.t.b. ..
Some people say Raw feeding helps (the cartilage in chicken wings etc is beneficial). Also, coconut oil as a supplement & fish oil - for joints. You could add sardines to his diet.
What do you feed your dog? Has your vet prescribed medication?
I am sorry about the diagnosis but there are definitely things you can do to help the situation.
I would perhaps start a new thread called something like How Can I Help My Dog Cope With Arthritis. There are bound to be lots of people on here with suggestions, and - more importantly - experience.
All the best
