Dog 13 regularly licks and bites between his claws on back right and front left paws. Any ideas whatthe problem is ?

Re: health
Hi!
Personally have never had a dog of 13 (yet!!). A friends dog (border collie) was 16 when it passed but used to lick his paw constantly and it was always sore.
Not any help really, but sure someone can.

have you look for any sores?
what you can do is clean them with warm salty water
Re: health
Yes, bathe with warm salty water & check that there's nothing there that shouldn't be - a tiny shard of glass or a seed lodged there. If it doesn't clear up you could try Camrosa Ointment. It's a great ointment, but can be a bit messy. If you're going to use it on a paw, you'll probably need some doggie boots to protect things.
It could, of course, also be a habit. Older dogs can develop 'comfort' habits, but again, an ointment should deter the licking & break the habit.
