Gurgling stomach & yellow mucus/bile

Hi all,

Throughout the night and this morning, Zeus's stomach has been gurgling alot, way more than normal. Then about 15 minutes ago, out of nowhere, he started vomiting this yellowy bile (maybe mucus) which is also frothy.

Do you think a trip to the vets is necessary? He just seems to be lethargic now, he didn't eat his morning feed either, the last time he ate was 8pm last night...

 he may just eat something funny my xena brought that yellowy bile up before, i would keep an eye on him if things are getting worse i would phone an vet..

Agree with Steve. He may just still feel a bit off and knows not to eat much. But watch in case he gets worse.

yellow frothy bile, tends to mean an empty stomach and that they are hungry

Have you tried a small, light meal like scrambled egg or boiled chicken and rice? As Steve says, keep an eye and pop him to the vet soon if he's no better. Could he have eaten/swallowed anything odd?

Thanks for the reassurance all, i did read that it could be due to an empty stomach but thats odd as hes on 3 meals a day, last one being at 8pm last night. Im pretty sure he hasnt ate something odd but you never know, he could have on his walk.

I havent fed him anything yet but will most likely cook some chicken and rice and see how he is. I also brought some prebiotic paste from PAH, similar to the one the vets gave me when he had an upset tummy before. Will let you know how he goes!

Hope he is ok. Lily vommed some yellow frothy bile yesterday and I blamed the onion bhajee she ate

Can I ask is there a reason he is having 3 meals a day? Just seems a lot for a 2yr old, or am I just getting confused lol.

Yep, the reason is that he has Colitis, which if you dont already know, enlarges his intestine and causes him to have diarrheoa etc. Therefore, the vet suggested that we feed him little and often which worked wonders for the condition. When he was on 2 feeds a day, he used to have alot of flare ups, the food would just simply go straight through him, he wouldnt put any weight on etc. When I split it into 3, its had the total opposite effect and he hasnt had a flare up in a while (touchwood).

It depends on the dog. I feed x2 a day but some dogs are grazers and need little and often however they normally have more poos if they eat like this   

Aww hope he is better soon as said just keep an eye Vin has had it to in the past, I think he had defo ate something he shouldn't have done

Oz too has Been a bit odd today had breakfast threw it all up, goodness knows why, may be the mahussive stick he had in the park but he's ok now, have starved him for the rest of the day, but had scrambled egg tonight and all is fine xxx

Hes drinking water but not much, his appetite seems to be coming back so fingers crossed hes ok tomorrow!

How is he today?

He seems better than yesterday (touchwood), he hasnt drank much water but ate OK this morning (we brought him some chappie, which we normally give when he has a tummy upset). His stomachs stopped gurgling and hes been running around / jumping etc. like his usual self!

Aww hopefully he's on the mend, we give darcy ice cubes when she won't drink maybe try some xx

Great to here hes getting better , i think my one has alittle bug atm,quite tired recently and sneezing the odd time,think they just pick up we things from time to time,doesnt stop me worrying tho lol

Maybe he sneaked something he shouldn't? Chloe sicked up a lot of froth with green bits in it yesterday - then I noticed part of the Christmas Cactus was missing,...................
