Yellow Bile!
Harry has thrown up either yellow or white bile. Started yesterday early hours about 4am (white bile) then yellow around 9am he ate normally throughout yesterday but threw up again at night. This morning again at 4am woke up to him retching white and just now yellow. He hasn't eaten anything this morning and is looking very sorry for himself. I am worried because on Saturday he was given a rawhide bone by my father in law and had eaten quite a lot of it before I took it away (he used to have them before but I stopped letting him have them after reading horror stories about blockages). Any advice??

Re: Yellow Bile!
The vomitting could be because of the hide chew, are you able to pop into the vets for peace of mind ?

Re: Yellow Bile!
Is he eating, drinking & pooing normally?
In your opinion is he looking sorry for himself because he's hungry or because he feels under the weather?
If you're in the slightest bit concerned that the rawhide could be to blame then take him to the vets, at least for some peace of mind.

Re: Yellow Bile!
Trip to vets when hubby back from work I think just to make sure. He pooed normally yesterday but hasn't yet today. Definitely not his usual self although just gone crazy in the window at a cat in the garden. I'm really annoyed with the rawhide thing although we gave them to our old boy all his life with no problems but one would last him a couple of weeks not half an hour like harry!

Re: Yellow Bile!
Yes, I've given them in the past, but not any more!
I got given a couple of rawhide chews by my boss's daughter when I looked after their GSD a couple of times. I threw them in the bin, although I didn't tell her that!
It might just be a dodgy tum, but you can't be too careful with a youngster.

Re: Yellow Bile!
Just an update, after posting Harry wolfed down some food went for walkies and seemed lots brighter. He hasn't been sick since and is eating and being his usual mischievous self. So no need for vets and definitely no more raw hide chews for this boy. Thanks everyone.
