xena is starting to fart all the time   and it stinks

I take it you haven't changed her food?

Maybe she has a bit of a tummy upset.

i was thinking could it be her anal glands?

Anal glands don't make them fart. Is she definitely farting, or is it the smell of her glands?

Older dogs do tend to fart a lot more, though.

i dont know if she farting or she just smells it's not an nice smell at all and she crying a lot more then normal

I would pop along to the vets for a check up Steve, crying is not a good sign, she may be in some discomfort.

Old dogs will tend to fart more, get more delicate digestions, and generally get a bit more smelly (like old people really!) But the crying is the worrying thing. Good luck Xena in getting you well again

Aww poor Xena maybe its an age thing, a lot of my old aged customers fart a lot especially when they get up out of the chair   
I would pop her to the vets though Steve if she is crying more aswell
