Worried :(

I have to leave Axl for two days to go to a wedding in Cardiff. Excited about the wedding but it's the first time I've been away from Axl for more than a day and I'm a bit worried. I know it's crazy but I'm worried something will happen to him and I'm going to be miles away!! He's staying at home and we have a friend coming over to stay. Axl doesn't know him that well but he's not usually fussy who he snuggles with as long as it's human. Our friend is popping over later to see Axl and pick up the keys so he will see him then and we leave in the morning. My regular dog walker will be walking him as usual just because of Axl's issues with other dogs, she knows how to handle him and is also working on his issues with us but even though I have all this in place im terrified of leaving him!!

Awww... worried mum. It's normal, but he'll be fine. And if (big, huge, mahoosive if) something does happen, you're only a couple of hours away.

If all the measures are in place dnt worry im sure everything will be fine.

It's natural to be worried. When we first left Flo with my Brother in law we wondered how she would cope with 2 ruddy great Blood hounds and not being allowed on the sofa. On our return we found that not only had she managed to secure her own space on the sofa but took one of the hounds beds as her own when it was vacant !!

Don't think she missed us very much at all

We're leaving our beautiful boy next week to go to France with my daughter and son in law for a whole WEEK!! Arrgghhh...dreading it. I have a arranged a Dog Sitter/Walker to call in at set times to take him out for an hour in the morning and half hour in afternoon and feed him then last thing to let him out for a wee. My neighbours are good so I'm hoping they'll let him out in the garden and give him a snuggle now and then.

I know I'm daft but I keep imagining all sorts of horrid thngs, like him being frantic being on his own all night wondering where we are etc.,

That's exactly how I feel! It's like leaving my child behind lol. I'm sure they will be fine though we just imagine the worst don't we!?

Hey Ian wedding was really good had a great time and got back early afternoon. Axl was fine he had lots of fun and was spoilt rotten. He did manage to slide off the sofa when we got in but was not happy when his baby sitter left lol I think he would rather have gone with him!! He's been sleeping ever since and is holding back on the cuddles haha I keep getting the sideways stink face, hopefully the sulk won't last too long!!

... The sulks won't last, he'll be over it in the morning.
