weeing in the night
we recently had Lexi done about a week and a half ago and the last 3 mornings we woke up and she's wee'd on the carpet, someone suggested she's trying leave her sent again and the vet said it could be a behaviour thing, she goes out before we go to bed. She never did it when she was a pup so why would she start now? any suggestions?

Haven't had it myself but it may be her body settling down. She must have had her post op check now and it seems fine, just keep an eye, Its all to do in that area, x If it persists though get another check up x

Re: weeing in the night
It could be that she is still in a little discomfort & finds holding the wee is difficult. Maybe for a week or so you could get up in the night to let her out to relieve herself?
I can't imagine it's scent marking, because her scent will still be all around the house - there's no need for her to do more.
I'd also clean wherever she's weed with a solution of biological washing powder - it completely gets rid of the odour (even she won't be able to smell it any more) so she won't be attracted back to the spot to wee.

the vet suggested this but i dont want start that because im worried that she will get into a habbit and expect it all the time. and the washing podwer sounds a good idea i amy try that as well.

Re: weeing in the night
It wouldn't be any different to your puppy training - just a few nights may help her, and then back to normal. During the week my oh gets up at 4am for work & lets Dempsey out for a wee. However at weekends he doesn't go out till about 8am. He copes with that, no problem.

Re: weeing in the night
Hi the same thing happened to our last girl when we had her done and after 5/6 days she settled back down again.
The Dog was castrated at a later age and he suffered from a leaky pipe for the rest of his days pore old boy
we used to have to change out wash his bedding every day, that was the 1 in front room,1 in kitchen and the one upstairs..the things we do for our dogs.
He was a big old boy to 50kg plus !!
Hope it all works out.

yeah the things we do lol. this seem positive we'll ride it out for a week or so if she carries on then we'll have to think about taking her out in the night, just have to put up with the wet carpets for now ay

Re: weeing in the night
Holly went backwards a little too for a few days... she wet on the floor twice ( no big deal we have tiles in most of the house)... but i think it is the weak muscles that cause the issues... Holly is fine now and it has only been a week... hang in there x
