8 week pup with diarrhea
I realise I'm most likely being paranoid - bit she is my first pup.
She's had very soft wet stools since Thursday night- which today have turned even more watery. Just wondering at what point I should have reason for concern?
8 weeks old and no food change- I've keept her on the same food as the breeder had her on. As far as treats go she has no more than two a day - and they are no bigger than a piece of her food.

If it was me and nothing has changed in her routine then I'd take her the vet for a check up. Best to be safe, when was she last wormed as this can sometimes cause a tummy upset

Re: 8 week pup with diarrhea
It's probably a good idea to pop her down to the vets. It may be nothing serious, but at that age puppies can get dehydrated easily if they get diarrhoea.

Re: 8 week pup with diarrhea
Update-
Two full days now of a mix of soft to runny stools.
On checking stools, no visible worms present and no blood- a small amount of mucus though in the runnier ones
Puppy has been sleeping for most of the day, but when awake has been happy and playful.
Appetite is not lost either- she's quite happily eaten her 4 meals (although I'm sure she doesn't eat as much as she should)
Will give her breakfast tomorrow as usual, followed by a 12hr fast. At 8pm will give her a mix of scrambled egg and boiled white rice.

Re: 8 week pup with diarrhea
If the stools still aren't back to normal by the end of tomorrow, you should probably take her to a vet.

At that age I would only skip one meal, maximum!Jsmpick wrote:Update-

A replacement meal of boiled eggs may help, but if it doesn't then the vets is the only alternative - pups of that age can go downhill rapidly from dehydration and lack of nutrients!
