He acts scared..?..?
looking for some advice! Since i got clyde at 9 weeks, he learned how to sit and give paw realy quickly. He was rewarded with a treat and praise. But all of a sudden infact just 10 mins or so ago i had a bit of chicken and asked him to sit and he cowered down and looked soo scared and woudnt take the chicken. I felt really guilty!! lol....

maybe he heard a noise that scared him..

Re: He acts scared..?..?
I'm sure you must have given him some sort of body language he didn't like without you realising, they're so quick at that sort of thing!

I think hes not scared just giving you respect.
My boy does this with my hubby as he veiws him as the dominant one.
when you put your boys food down its fine he will probably eat but hand feeding is different and what you have explained is respect
Dont feel cruel its nothing you have done and apart from when you eat and your dog jumping up to your plate and helping himself its good that he shows you respect this way.

Re: He acts scared..?..?
forgot to add -Your dog is now maturing and his natural instincts are showing through when there is food the dominant one will eat then so on as you say he only does it with you and not your hubby.
What he thinks is you as the dominant one is making a challenge over the chicken and hes giving you respect he wont take the chicken or the challenge.
What you are doing is giving him a treat, hes not reading that hes seeing it differently.
Oh the drama of a dog!!!!!!!
