SCARED OF GOING OUT
Hi Everyone
It is 10 days my Baby (POLLY) is allowed out.... and this is what happens:
1) put the lead on ----> sad face
2) bring her out -----> heart rate sky rockets + tale tucked in
3) she gets better and walk.... PULLING LIKE A MAD ( I will take her to a couple of lessons soon also to teach her to stay off lead)
4) Suddenly she stops (not because she's tired.... it normally happens after 2min)
5) Unless you pull her and slide her on the pavement she won't move.. -----> we end up carrying her for a while..
6) as soon as we turn back (at the end of our trip) she stops... and starts shaking... scared!
7) I reassure her... take her on me...cuddle her.. jokes, biscuit... and after few steps down again... she walks, but not too convinced..
Is this fear going out normal? I guess she still needs to get the habit...
Any idea is appreciated

Re: SCARED OF GOING OUT
In no.s 5, 6 & 7 you are reinforcing her fear. Don't sympathise with her at all & certainly don't pick her up!
Take a squeeky toy with you & just act silly with it - loads of play & silly voices. Make it fun for her!
