Think that dog should have been on a lead!
Hi, took Pebbles out for her morning walkie. She was walking (not too bad with the pulling lol) on the lead next to me when we saw this big husky type dog walking towards us.
He/ she was off the lead and the owner made a quick dash for a her collar. I tried not to act nervous as i didn't want to scare Pebbles but as we passed each other the owner was holding onto the collar obviously as hard as he could and the dog was growling/barking and struggling to get away from the owner's grip.
This kind of made me a bit annoyed as I think this dog should not be allowed to walk off the lead on a public path if it will react like this when meeting other dogs.
Sorry rant over.

My pup is always on the lead but everytime we walk past someone i have to grip his lead and sometimes kneel down and hold his harness untill others walk past, hes very jumpy and excited when he sees humans and dogs, would happly jump up on people. It does annoy me when i see people not using there lead when they have dogs of that nature

Makes me wonder why people think it's okay for them to have their dogs off the leash in such an environment, especially if they are going to react like that! Glad pebbles was okay though x

Fully agree. If you know your dog is Da don't let it run loose.

Re: Think that dog should have been on a lead!
Ive noticed a huge jump in the amount of people just blasingly walking about with their dogs off lead and not even watching them. It started with one plank doing it cause she had a pram, even though her big alsation dog was running in out of the road and was dog aggressive. I reported her and wrote to the papers about the dogs but it still happens.

I don't understand why people take these risks! i was walking wispa about a week ago and i felt a presence beside me i turned and a dog that nearly reached my waist was beside me off the lead.
He was very tall like them afghan hounds i think they're called, but looked like a lurcher/greyhound but with hair like a collie. it had a collar on so was looking for owner but nowhere to be seen.
It was sniffing my dog but oddly wispa wasnt boisterous or jumping on the dog just standing there. Then the dog suddenly started growling and got aggressive and started snapping at my dog, i pulled my dog away and made a noise i startled it lol! then it just ran off. still no owner. my dog didn't bat an eyelid I was a little shaken because i didn't see this dog appear and i wasn't sure if the dog was friendly or not.
i am glad to hear pebbles is okay

Re: Think that dog should have been on a lead!
Some people really irritate me. On a public path, the dog is required by law to be on the lead anyway. If he's going to react like that, the owner should be taking extra precautions.
