Healthy weight?
What is the average weight for an 11 weeks old pup?
Bruno was weighed at the weekend and was almost 5kg but I've just seen on another post that someone's 12 week old pup is 9kg? Is Bruno small?

Re: Healthy weight?
If memory serves me Darcy was about 5/6kg at 12 wks so I think Bruno is fine, they're all different weights & sizes & I'm sure your vet would have said at 1st jabs if they thought he was small. A picture would help.........not to see his weight........just to see him again

Re: Healthy weight?
It may have been my post, he is 9 kilo but the vet said he was tubby, a dog from the same litter was 7.5 so a decent difference and they said they were both ok, and unless its a dog is obese or very underweight they will sort themselves out by 1 year not too worry too much. I guess all shapes and sizes

Re: Healthy weight?
Yeah, they grow at different rates, so very often two dogs of the same age will weight different amounts. As long as he doesn't look skinny, I daresay he's fine!

Re: Healthy weight?
He doesn't look skinny but he's a real 'picker' with his food and doesn't eat whole meals! We gave him some naturediet puppy mixed in with his meals yesterday and had CLEAN BOWLS so may carry on with that. I'm sure he'll bulk up soon enough. His dad was a very meaty staff but his mum was on the daintier side so it'll be interesting to see how he turns out.

Re: Healthy weight?
If i remember correctly Marley was around 6kg at that age so not much difference to your boy (he's now 25.8kg at 2 yr and still growing). deff nothing to worry about as others have said, just enjoy the shape shifting they do over the next few months
