Stop chewing?!?
I have so many toys for my two doggies!
Never had an issue with my JRT till now. We have our 11week old Staffie home and his chewing my skirting board and door steps, and now my JRT is joining in.
Any suggestions to stop them? We have a wide range of toys, including rubber, rope, wood sticks his brought in, soft toys, chew toys bit unsure what else to get to distract them.
And then there is the digging! Lol
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
Kat

Re: Stop chewing?!?
Oh dear, When you can walk Binks a little more it will get better. Have you got a kong that you can fill with treats? As for the skirting boards you could try putting some Vicks Vapour rub on there as they don't like the smell. It worked for me though Vinnie wasn't a great chewer just the one chair!

Re: Stop chewing?!?
Yes my little horror chewed the door frame and my brand new blind! So I then started putting him in his crate when I wasnt there. Then he had the snip and had to be left out of the crate as his lamp shade collar makes it a bit of a squeeze and I think while he's been allowed out of the crate with his E collar on he's learnt that he doesnt have to start gnawing the door frame the second I leave the room and now he's allowed to stay out of the cage without his E collar he seems to be ok. I still hold my breath though as I walk through the door lol. The little rotter!

My Pup's a chewer too!!
Hiya,
This is my first post/reply.
I'm having the same chewing issue with my 10 month old Staff Bella. We have two Staffs. Bruno is 3 and isn't a chewer but Bella loves a nibble. Problem is that we have just moved into rented accomodation and she's gone for a wall and a door.
I walk them for an hour in the morning then they are left for 2 hours and then the dog walker comes and they are out for another two hours then back on their own for another couple.
Toy wise, u name it they have it.
Most people say she will grow out of it but I cant have it in rented so i'm wondering whether I should just crate her but not sure whether that will work when she hasn't being crate trained and is older now and Bruno wont be crated so not sure if you struggle being locked away.
I've tried spray from a pet shop but tend to find after a couple of days she goes back.
I considered muzzle but a lot of google chat says not to when they are on their own.
Should I crate?
