Kong Toys
Hi guys !!
I've finally splashed out on a Kong (however the money I spent on other tuff-stuff may as well have been poured down the drain - lol)
So I've got the "bell-shaped" original one that you can stuff with peanut butter etc...what I want to know, is, how often should they be cleaned out, or how long should I leave the stuff in it before washing it ? And exactly how do you clean them ? Don't want to find it stashed under me bed with some moldy old paste in it stinking the house out !! Lol
Thanks :-D

Re: Kong Toys
I have the bell shaped one for Vinnie, I clean it everyday and just soak it in warm water and the remnants are easily removed. Vinnie only has his though when its bed time or when I go out, so it isn't hanging around the house.

Hot soapy water and a scrub with a brush rinse with very hot water leave to air dry, they can go in the dishwasher although I wouldn't recommend that as I did this and it went a bit soft.

Re: Kong Toys
I use Vinnies nature diet meat he has for his main meals, and freeze it he is a little sensitive to things so stick with what he has normally.

Re: Kong Toys
I use some chopped up carrot, peanut butter and his regular kibble then add a little water and freeze it. Banana can also be added.

I also have some salmon sandwich paste which I put in Ledgers or primula cheese to keep him quiet if we go to a cafe

Re: Kong Toys
You can put it in the dishwasher on the top rack! I run Gwen's kong through the dishwasher about once a week depending on how much I've used it! Usually Gwen gets every single last thing out of it! But afterwards I just rinse it with warm water! The kong is the ONLY thing that Gwen hasn't been able to destroy and she's had hers since she was 8 weeks old (she's 7 months now)!!
