Not so great news. Empty Not so great news.

Post by JaggyWombat Wed Aug 07 2013, 00:34

Unfortunately at the vets this morning we had some bad news. we had both dogs in at the vets to get all their jabs finished off and get little Zoey a check over (shes a very healthy puppy) but we had some bad news to go with this. Monday night Taz came running in from the garden and his back legs slipped out from underneath him. he limped around for a bit but we assumed he had just hurt himself and give him a few days he will be fine. but as we were going into the vet anyway we thought he can be checked up and should be fine.

Bad news is its not just a little knock that will be fine in 48 hours. hes done his cruciate ligament in his knee. To make things either worse weve been told surgery isn't an option as at his age his chances aren't great. So our only option is 4 weeks bed rest and painkillers from now on.

bed rest however isnt going to happen with a 9 week pup in the house.

Oh gee holy macaroni that's a problem could you just separate them in a different place of the house or one inside and one outside because you need Taz to heeal properly you never know whats around the corner with things going haywire with our beloved furry best buddies good luck thought

That's terrible news! I hope you can manage the bed rest - but as you say, it won't be easy.

Oh Taz you silly billy, is he ok in a crate? Might be worth giving him some separate time away from Zoey. He should be ok with some rest painkillers and good food. x

Sad bless him. Will be a tough four weeks to keep rested but im sure you will take care of him just fine. Could be seen as extra cuddle time?

Wishing good luck to you both Not so great news. 3198918699

Poor Taz! Sad What terrible news! I'm so sorry to hear this. It won't be easy but you'll just have to do your best to try to keep them separated as much as possible for the time being. I hope he is able to recovery quickly! Please keep us updated on how he is doing! Big hugs from me and Gwen for Taz!

Poor little thing - well done for going to vets. I recently broke my ankle and can only agree that lots and lots of rest does wonders for injuries. Sleep, I read, is actually very healing.
