Hello to my new found saviors lol.
Just a quick question, we have been feeding the recommended jwb amount and giving 3 meals daily.
She seems to be less hungry and not bother with the second meal, i just wondered is 4 months maybe too young to do only 2 meals a day or would tht be better

Every pup is different, it might be with the heat she doesn't want to eat as much, see how she goes on the 2 meals a day, Rocky has always been fed on two since we got him at 9 weeks, the vet advised us to do it this way as well as the puppy pre school and he did fine. He is getting to the point where he barely touches his morning feed and gobbles down his night feed!

I'd always recommend three meals per day for a puppy, as their digestive systems are still delicate and can't always take large portions of food. It's likely that the weather has affected her appetite. Hopefully it'll return to normal after the heat dies down. Smile

Darcy struggles to eat in this heat, keep her to 3 meals a day & hopefully her appetite will improve once the weather is a little cooler Smile

I would also stick with 3 for now, at least until 6 months, I think they can all be funny in this heat, maybe up a meal and lower a meal to whichever is being enjoyed more Xx

can only agree with the above , both of mine are eating very erratically at the moment I assume due to the heat , but at the end of the day it's all gone Smile

Two meals is not enough for a growing puppy!

I usually go by...

8 weeks to 12 weeks - 4 meals a day
12 weeks to 6 months - 3 meals a day
6 months to 12 months (or for life) - 2 meals a day.

Puppies grow so quickly that they use far more nutrients than they can get in just two meals. By feeding too little you could possibly harm their health.

I would continue to offer her the 3 meal at least until 6 months, the hot weather is probably putting her off a bit
