Guys, we have a problem with slugs and snails in the back garden. Just bin on slug watch and noticed some bits of snail shell. About an hour ago Lola was sick a little bit, it was yellowish colour. She's not her usual bouncy self since being sick. Just lieing down. Didn't even bother to move when the postman came. Do u think I should get her to the vets ASAP?

I would.

It may not be anything to do with the snails, but if she isn't 'herself' then she might be sickening for something.

They open 3 times. 9.30-11.00, 2-3 and 4.30-6.30. Durin those times it's like a drop in with no appointment needed. Gets very busy, so need to get there half hour early to be seen first. I presume in between these times they are doing ops etc. it's only a small surgery with 2 vets.

I couldn't wait!!! Went to another vets, and Lola did what dogs do best. Made me look a liar!! Surprised  he wasn't concerned at all. He said obviously seeing the broken shell got me worried, but someone could of stood on it etc etc. she could of picked up something, that's why she was sick. But there was nothing wrong with her to cause concern.

Shes nearlly 7 months and weighed in at 17.2kg. Do u think she's a fatty bum bum??

Anyway, I've de stressed a little, but gonna keep a close eye on her. Thanks for the concern guys!! thumbs up

Oh Matty that is great to hear! So glad Lola is okay Smile

As ive learned from the site, I wouldn't go by weight, but by what Lola looks like, as all dogs come in different shapes and sizes, also if you can see a clear waist line and feel her last 2 ribs she should be fine! Smile Rocky is 6 months in a few days is is 16.5kgs! Smile

Have you put down anything to get rid of the slugs and snails, you can get pet friendly stuff now.

Everytime Lola's out I carry out "slug watch". So generally get them all. Prob the odd cheeky little sucker that's hiding away somewhere. But yeah, gonna have a ganders at some stuff.
