Crying I had my heart in my throat.

Post by jola139 Sat Jun 29 2013, 17:25

Today I just found out hw much Debo loves my OH. Which is great but.... Debo run off!. We left home together, my OH went to the car and I took Debo. WE walked off few metres,I think Debo thought that his going only for a wee and we will go back to the car. I let him off the lead , he run for a wee and then he noticed that my OH's driving away. It was a split second. He started running after the car, I shouted after him but he was in trans. I shouted to my OH to stop the car but he always listen the radio very loud. We live in the estate so I was hopping Debo will stop before the main road. But he didn't,I saw the car turning right to the main road and Debo running after it. When I got there I saw another car coming ,my heart stopped( that's how I felt). The driver saw what's going on and slowed down, then I saw my OH stopping the car and happy dog. When I got to them I was so close to cry. I was all shaken. Took Debo on the lead. I think he knew he did wrong, all the way back home he walked next to my leg like never before. Now he's fast a sleep.

I know, from now on we are not going to leave the house together if we are going different direction. My friend works in rescue centre and sometimes they got a dog with injuried paws , she said it's from running after the car. I never believed that dog could run after his owner's car but now I know that Debo is able to do it and he would run until he couldn't no more.

Poor debo and poor you, must have been a scary moment, lesson learned Debo to be kept on the lead now until OH is out of sight.
