Oh, boy, a hyper staff!
Is he actually hyperactive or bored do you think? If he's hyper, then you may need to change his food to something with less protein or less additives. If he's bored then you may need to not only exercise his body, but his mind, too. Teach him the seek command by hiding treats around the house so that he has to sniff them out.

is he doing this when you are in or out? woody had 1 chew of the cupboards in my 1 year old kitchen so i have installed a baby gate on the kitchen (its open plan with the dining room). he has free reign of the dining room as ive removed anything chewable but if im not about the kitchen is closed off.
i'v also found out he cant bear vicks vapour rub (recommended by someone on here) so ive put that on other items in the living room he was chewing - has worked so far!

there are heaps of great toys to keep your boy occupied.. a kong stuffed with peanut butter will keep him busy..also other ones like balls that you put dry kibble in and as they play with it pieces fall out. Also do you leave the radio on ( nice soothing music station.. NOT rock !! ) A few drops of rescue remedy in his water might help. The gate and vapour rub are great ideas too ! Maybe confine him to one room.. with lots of toys etc.... ( Though he may try to destroy the door to get out! ) A good idea to rotate his toys too so he doesn't get bored with the same ones. Take him for as many runs and walks as you can before you go out so he is tired.... though I guess at one it takes alot to tire a staffy out! Good luck ( I think we have all been where you are now ! )

i was tearing my hair out as nothing seemed to put him off e.g. chillies/special sprays but the vapour rub makes him wince! it doesnt smell as bad as other things and bonus it keeps your sinuses clear too!

Re: My 1yr male staffy destroying my kitchen
Ive been lucky with my 2 they have never chewed but I did take off 12 weeks from work each time when they were babies.
Would you consider a crate to stop your boy distroying your home as it may be better for him to be contained safe then for you to be cross with him.
I dont use crates but some on here swear by them, just something to think of

Re: My 1yr male staffy destroying my kitchen
Jethro went berserk in the back of our ute in the canopy one day and chewed ripped shredded everything he could find to get his teeth into,. I bought a large wire crate.. he has never been in one before ( well except when he flys over to South Australia with us when we visit my family.. yes he has flown 3 times!! SPOILT BRAT !! But that is in an enclosed plastic crate ) Anyway I now make him go in the wire crate for piece of mind when he is in the back of the ute.. and he is nearly 12 and has learnt very quickly to go in the crate.. he just sighs and lies down. I know he is safe and secure, and he doesn't try to fight it, so age is no barrier I don't reckon. Mind you he is never in it for more than a few hours.. at the most. He has a blanket and chew rope and I put a bowl of water in it as well ( which I know they don't recommend. If it wasn't for the crate I reckon me and my hubby would have gotten a divorce because it wasn't the first time Jethro went berserk in the car.. we should have got one the first time!! At least we know now he can't destroy anything !!

i swear by my crate/cage that woody has - he doesnt seem to mind either as i say bed and walks straight into it - at first i had to use food as an incentive but now he goes in when told.i cover it with a blanket and he appears to like it

Re: My 1yr male staffy destroying my kitchen
Ive just read this whole post as Zero too is a 1 staffie demolition yard He was fine then about 6weeks ago he decided all the toys, kongs, walks etc wernt enough and figured eating things would be more fun it started with the kitchen (where they go if im out) skirting board, then the kennel in the garden (they have a kennel and run for when needed) but then i came home to find a whooping great hole in my kitchen wall not a small one i might add!! So i tried all of the above but he still insists on eating my home so i got the cage out of the loft (Maz only needs it for fireworks time due to extreme fear) and yes hes wreaked that too i came home to find hes "ripped" his way out > so any ideas on a 7mth old that can get thru wood, concreate and metal
What worried me is when his jaws fully grown i might come home to find i have a staffie made doggy door next to my french doors
