If there's nothing that springs to mind, such as new detergents, airsprays, shampoos or fleas, it's best that you take your dog to the vet. It may be an allergy, but it may also be mites. Either way, your vet should be able to give a diagnosis.

My first thought would have been anal glands too, if at all conserned a trip to the vets maybe.

Re: itchy pup
If it is blocked anal glands, you should be able to feel the blockages and smell an odor. The anal sacs are located just outside the anus, roughly at the 2 and 4 o'clock areas. If they are blocked, you will feel two small lumps - roughly the size of peas.
How are her stools usually? If they're soft or loose, that would be a cause of blocked anal glands - the glands are stimulated when firm stools exit the rectum. If her stools are soft, the glands may not be expressed enough.
If it is a case of blocked anal glands, you can express them yourself. However, I'd recommend you take her to the vet first so that he/she can show you the correct procedure and determine whether or not that is actually the problem.
