Itchy Dog Empty Itchy Dog

Post by Amelie Sun Mar 01 2015, 19:22

My youngest Bitch has been an itchy dog since born, no matter what i try i can not get her to stop, she reacts (hives) to everything from grass to foods, I've ruled out everything though no matter what i do or try, the only time she will not itch is for about 10 minutes after a cold bath, I think she has a hot blood problem some terriers have, its her back end she is always trying to scratch and even rubs on her mum and dad to sooth her itch, she will not stop no matter what and it is getting her down, i know how tormenting it is to itch (having eczema) Is there something out there naturally i can give her to stop the itching? some kind of oil? or daily antihistamine for dogs? a while ago someone told me about some kind of liver salts in her food? she is over weight at the moment her weight fluctuate but she has been heavy short legged since birth 4years old, no matter what foods and exercise (other two dogs aren't over weight) could she have a thyroid problem? anyone experiencing similar? I'll take her to the vet if i need to but i'm not a fan of chemicals (steroids) they offer if im honest.

First and foremost what are you feeding and what have you been feeding? I completely understand the dislike for chemicals for her, so if it can be helped holistically thats great.

I have used a product called botanica with great success, it is a natural spray/cream for animals and humans its really itch relieving.

Im not sure i can link on here, but google the name. The cleansing spray lasts ages and really works.
