Crying Dempsey's being a pain!

Post by Guest Fri May 31 2013, 11:34

He's been out for two walks already this morning. The first one was 45 minutes, but when we got back home he started howling, so I assumed he needed to go to the toilet again and we went back out. In the second walk, he didn't even show any interest in going to the toilet, so I thought he might just have needed to run off some energy.

Got him back home and he was still restless, so I've made sure he has access to the garden in case he has a dodgy tummy. Phoned mum about it and she said to give him some Kaogel in case his stomach's upset. He did not appreciate that and somehow managed to get a load of it on his back.

Thought he'd settled down, but about 20 minutes ago he started howling again. I took him up to the green (grassy area near our house where he goes to the toilet). Still nothing.

When we got back home, I dug out two of his old tennis balls and played a few games with him. Threw one up the stairs so that he could pounce on it when it bounced down to him, then threw the other one up the stairs so that he'd leave the first one and I could grab it. Played that game for about 10 minutes before he got bored.

I'm hoping that's settled him a bit. Sad

I hope that's all it is. I hate it when he's this distressed. Sad

He's very jumpy as well. We have a clock that makes bird noises on the hour. The 12 o'clock one is a tawny owl. He's always been fine with it, but just now it seemed to spook him. confused

He's funny like that - he gets days when he just doesn't seem to be able to settle.

So glad to hear Dempsey has got over his wobblies. They can be such babies sometimes - a cunning plot to see us worrying ourselves to distraction >Big Grin<

I can't be certain, but I think this clock is available through those companies that send you booklets once you've ordered something from them. My mum's clock was given her as a present from one of her grandchildren.

It has pictures if birds around the dial, and on each hour it plays a recording of that bird's song. Some are better than others, but most of them puzzle our dogs - what is that and where is coming from?!

Yes, my oh liked it when he saw it in the RSPB catalogue.

I never wanted it in the first place & I resisted getting it for months! Laughing
