Sleeping arrangements Empty Sleeping arrangements

Where does your pooch sleep?

Skye sleeps at the bottom of the stairs and has run of the passage. Last few nights tho I've found her curled up at the bottom of the kids bed. I've moved her back to her bed but she cries. We have a stair gate at the top and she sits there crying and pulling on my heart strings. This is a new thing. She's usually fine. I don't mind her sleeping on kids bed but i dont leave her unsupervised with the kids normally so worried about it during the night.

Any advice??? X

Suki has slept with us every night since she has been able to control her bladder or go on her papers during the night.

My children are 9, 5 and 2.skye is closest to my youngest and its his bed she tends to hop on. She gets herself comfy at the foot of his bed even when I go I she hardly moves. I think she must be thinking to herself if I don't move she won't see me haha x

Chiquito has slept with me since a week after I brought him home.

In my opinion, if there is any concern for you in having Skye in the bedroom with the children I would either put her in with you or work on keeping up the current arrangements where she is out of the bedrooms - you are bound to sleep better if you feel secure in the arrangements for all skin and fur babies. Hope that helps Smile

Both ours have been in our bed since they could hold their bladders. I can't sleep if one goes outside or takes a while to hop in Blushing

Darcy sleeps downstairs in the dining room in her crate, I'm afraid i have been tempted to let her sleep with us Smile but she has slept there since she was a baby so I don't want to disturb her routine Smile

Blue sleep in my bedroom next to me on the floor in his bed. Same as Janey if he wanted to sleep with my kids it wouldn't bother me but I know allot on here wouldn't allow it. You know your dog better than anyone.
If she is just after some company then you could always do thesae as me and put a bed in your room for her

Just sleeps just wherever he drops lol! But I tend to bring him up to my room when I go because I like knowing he's there Smile

If she is happy with your kids and your kids don't mind just let her work away.

Loki sleeps in his cage in the living room, he takes himself off there and doesn't come out for at least 12 hours Laughing. Can't really offer any advice, but if you don't want her to sleep where your kids are, you'll just have to try to continue with her current sleeping arrangement and endure the crying until she realises it's no use.

Shéara falls asleep on the couch but soon follows when i go to bed, he curls up on my feet to keep my toes toasty Smile

Id suggest putting Skye's bed in your room so hes got comapny if you dont really want her with your kiddies.

I don't really mind her sleeping with the kids is she's comfy its fine with me. Hubby will need some persuading, he isn't a dog lover .... yet! She used to sleep in her crate in the living room an d was fine, we recently decorated and moved her bed into the passage whilst doing so, there is no room for her crate there so for a week or so she has been crate free and my house is still intact (no chewing it up)
She takes herself off to bed on n evening and is fine but when one of us has left the gate open I've found her curled up on the bed. It looks so cute, I hate disturbing her. I think I will accidently on purpose leave the gate open tonight and leave her on the kids bed and see how she goes Big Grin

Jenson sleeps by my bed on floor in his bed .. ive wanted him on/in our bed from the beginning but my hubby wont allow it .. he sleeps so well til half 5 in morning then hes wide awake, i take him out for toilet then he sits by sofa and waits for me to grab a coffee and he then snuggles on me and falls fast asleep til kids wake up.
Tried to take him back to his bed after he been toilet but he refuses to go liking snuggles on sofa instead.

My 2 have slept on our bed since day one - but recently hubby made a 'bed type' area that is same height next to our bed - so they sleep on there.

I wouldn't mind if they slept on the kids bed - but the dogs aren't allowed upstairs (my bedroom is downstairs) our upstairs tends to be the cats domain !

Demps sleeps in his crate usually, sometimes on the sofa or outside a bedroom door. Personally, I wouldn't leave my dog alone with children, even if he/she was entirely friendly. Accidents can happen - suffocation, rough play, etc..
