Sleeping Arrangements
When I first got izzy I lived on my own and I let her sleep in the bed with me. Now that we've had to move home to my parents house she has to sleep in the hall with my parents poodle. She lies on my bed until I'm ready for bed and then she refuses to move when I tell her it's time for bed..so much so that I have to carry her! It's been a month now and she's getting worse. I have no clue as to what to do about it..
Any advice would be very much appreciated

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
Is there a reason that she can't sleep with you any more?
It'll probably just take some time to change her habits.

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
They don't like dog hair in the bedroom and she sheds quite a lot..I considered a crate beside me but with her being a rescue dog I'm not too sure how she would react and wouldn't want to stress her out

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
Our 2 rescue dogs love their cages. Put something nice for her to lay on (ours have duvets bloody duck and down ones) and cover the cages like a little den. This will make her feel secure and warm. It might help

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
If your parents are happy with a crate, then by all means try it. Most dogs take to them really easily as long as it's done properly.

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
I'll lend you my crate to try it out. Logan is too tall for it now anyway.

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
Could you not try a cover on your bed, we have an old duvet cover on top of our duvet to help stop the hairs spreading everywhere as Rocky loves to sleep on the bed with hubby and me.

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
As mentioned, crating will solve the majority of the hair problem.
Crate training is surprisingly easy and can be very quick - doesn't need to be done in the bedroom - you could start with a crate downstairs during the day and, once the dog uses it as a resting place without prompting, transfer it upstairs.

Re: Sleeping Arrangements
Just give her a good brush in the evening and then make sure your parents see you over tidy up the room/ clean the bed. they'll think the dog brings the best out of you and all will live happily ever after with your pooch cuddling up next to u in bed.
Mine sleeps in my bed by my feet and I wouldn't have it any different
Regards
Catalin
