Heat Making Him Tired?
Loki hasn't had much exercise today compared to usual, but he's exhausted. He's had a 45-minute morning walk (mostly on the long line so some running, but not constant), about 20 minutes in total playing with his Boomer Ball, which does seem to tire him out easily, and a 10 minute walk just now. The 10 minute walk was meant to be longer, my mum took him out, but she brought him back early because he was walking very slowly, behind her almost. That's not like him at all, I'm wondering if the heat makes them easily physically worn out? And am I right to cut short his walks if he's walking slowly?

Yes the heat can defiantly slow them down and tire them out more, bless Loki you'll know when enough is enough

Def, the heat total wrecks my Logan. I normally cut him away back in exercise just for the reason that he walks so slow in the sun and it takes ages lol.
As long as you have water with you it is no problem though

That's a shame, I was hoping the summer would mean massive walks, especially now he's older, since last year he was a tiny little puppy. What a weirdo, he has tonnes of energy, and the heat makes me tired and lazy, but I've been feeling very energetic today, and he's in such a deep sleep right now that I'm eating chicken in front of him and he doesn't notice

It effects them differently really, Moo can be out all day in the sunshine but if its really hot we just chill down the park she has a wander and I get to sun bath, always have loads of water XX

Yeah Ebony ebs been like that lately! Since she's black she attracts any bit of sun; I tend to wait a bit later for it to cool down before I walk her or I split her walks up I also take water with me too - half the time she won't drink it but just incase she wants some

The heat definately makes them tired. We switch Suki walks to the coolest parts of the day

Tank went thru a slow phase - lethargic, sleepy - I'm convinced now it was a combination of the heat and a growth spurt.

Re: Heat Making Him Tired?
aww, Loki! Mine are the same so all through summer we've tried to walk during the cooler times. Vinny's a bit lazy too so his trick is to stop at our gate every time we've done lap around the area. The other day he dragged me to the gate and sat licking the keyhole. Weirdo. I'm looking forward to our winter to walk more!

Re: Heat Making Him Tired?
It seems during the heat he's only happy to do one walk a day. I wonder if that'll make him full of excess energy or he'll be OK because he's too tired for two walks? Ah well, he spent the day with his Boomer Ball (best toy ever) so he's still getting nice and tired out

Chance does really bad in any heat, he just overheats so easy and throws up a bit, but yer he gets really tired in it quick!
