First Whole/Raw Sardine
OK, this was hilarious. Loki likes tinned sardines, so I got him a few whole ones when I went shopping this morning. I expected him to devour them at once, but no. He was freaked out by it, he growled at it, he sniffed it, moved it around the floor. It took ten minutes for him to finally nibble the tail, and another few minutes for him to slowly eat it. I've never laughed so hard in my life I had no idea whether he liked it or not, so gave him a second one and recorded it. He ate the second one much quicker, but you can see he's still not sure. I don't know if it's the taste or the texture or that he's unsure whether it's food or not, but needless to say he won't be going on a RAW diet any time soon unless I have hours to watch him slowly eat

Can't wait to watch this when I get home!
Logan is the most picky eater but he literally "cries" the house down for fish.

Aww Loki, look at that tail while he's eating. He wasn't sure but he sure ate it

Re: First Whole/Raw Sardine
I think his tail was like that because it was very windy, but not sure. I don't know why he'd eat it if he was so saddened by it, he's such a weirdo

Re: First Whole/Raw Sardine
Good boy Loki, did he give you fishy kisses after
Pixee loves fish, already cooked, wont eat raw food, but I might try the fish raw and see how she gets on. I am amazed Loki eat the lot. Was it all whole and nothing removed?

He didn't give me kisses, because I made sure to dodge out of the way . Yeah, completely whole, nothing removed. I was a bit worried (as I usually am ) but it was absolutely fine.
Oh, I gave him the third (and last) one a bit earlier. He was much less hesitant and he actually looked like he enjoyed it I guess he just didn't understand that it was food.

Aw, why's Loki so weird? He doesn't understand what food is

Re: First Whole/Raw Sardine
The Tedster gets Pilchards twice a week. I am sure this is why his coat is so good.
As he carefully eats everything but the dry food I mix his meat or fish with he is now having Pilchards with cooked pasta twists and his bowl looks like it has just been through the dish washer.
I will have to try him with Sardine if I can find some around here.
Regards
Simon

Re: First Whole/Raw Sardine
I think he's lost touch with his wild instincts and isn't used to any food that doesn't look like kibble. Chance and Harvey would laugh at Loki
