Sardine Oatcakes + Liver Cake
So had a look through here the other day for some things to bake for Bane! Started with something simple: Sardine Oatcakes from here: http://www.bdws.co.uk/category/recipes/
They turned out looking great and from Bane's reactions I think they taste pretty good too
Have a few pics to share to show just how much he liked them:
This is when I had all the ingredients out and I had cracked open the tin of sardines (Bane's first experience of sardines) He would not leave the kitchen after this!
Bane testing to see if the dough was the right consistancy (he was licking the hell out of it!)
QC making sure they were all the same size and thickness:
How they turned out (forgot the last tray so they were a bit darker, woops!)
Bane waiting very patiently for one! He did all of his tricks perfectly to get this little piece of sardiney oaty goodness!
It was such an easy recipe to make! I did struggle to get the dough to stay together so chucked an egg in there too!
I cut them into about 1 n half inch circles, about 4mm thick and managed to get 71 biscuits. I think in total I worked out that it cost me about £1.34 for ingredients so less than 2p per biscuit! And he goes nuts for them! My house now smells of fish but it's a nice fishy smell (if there is such a thing)...
So yeah if you were thinking of having a go at making some homemade treats for your pups, go for it! I've got liver in the fridge to make liver cake next ;)I've heard good things!

Wow that looks gooood! I remember reading somewhere about your liver cake and been meaning to make it for a while now I am hoping it will improve Bane's recall training!
And I was also interested in the dehydrated bits n bobs! Do you find they work really well? If so might be tempted to go on the hunt for a dehydrator Think I managed to get onto your website the other day actually! Was searching online about Raw feeding and found you on another forum Promise I am not a stalker!

Re: Sardine Oatcakes + Liver Cake
Ella that liver cake recipe is amazing! I think I nearly puked a few times while making it, it was stinkier than the sardines! But Bane is going nuts for it!
It turned out really well and was so easy!:
I've cut it up into a hundred million billion piees ready to take training and to the park :)I can't believe how much it made!
He wouldn't leave the kitchen alone and kept tryna pinch pieces off the edge of the chopping board! :lol:Think he's had a few too many pieces as he has a bit of a stinky butt right now sleeping next to me

Re: Sardine Oatcakes + Liver Cake
don't forget you can freeze the liver cake, and feed it frozen so none of it goes to waste
