Partial Paralysis of the hind legs
We have a 13 year old staffie called Floyd who has been living in Spain for 10 years. He loves the sun and we like to think that he benfits from a warmer climate!
As regrads to historical injuries he was knocked down by a car ( the car was written off!!!) and also chased a cat up a tree until he realised he was not a cat and fell out of the tree but to a lower level ) about 8 feet)
He has been athritic for a number of yeras and for the past 2 years he has a daily dose of Metacam
His back legs are partially paralysed but he can still manage to walk ( or crab!) for a hundred metres or so. I have bought a harness, to support his back legs ready, for when he is unable to walk anymore.
Is there anymore we can do to either improve his mobility or slow down the disbaility?

Re: Partial Paralysis of the hind legs
Sorry to hear about Floyd's condition. He has had some adventures! No experience here, I'm afraid but someone will be along in a bit to advise

Re: Partial Paralysis of the hind legs
The harness work well and most dogs get around alot better once they are used to them. Other than that their are additional supplements you can use which could help a little

Re: Partial Paralysis of the hind legs
There are supplements that may help slightely but maybe not make a massive difference.
I like the idea of the supportive harness.
I also commend you for sticking by him, he sounds great.
Best of luck and be sure to stick around and keep us updated on him
