Biting hind legs with bald patch
Im sure its force of habbit but not sure she has a 1 inch bald spot in her hind leg near her paw she nibbled at it i thought she was just itchy but this morning when we got up its nearly completely bald no sign of craze or cut ect her skins just a little red
Howe ever whare the spot is is the same spot she had some paint on her ( she walked past and brushed the pot ) it was the type of paint that came off with water so i just rubbed it with a damp cloth and it came off no problem do you think it iritated her and shes now in the habit of nibling it ? will the hair grow back ?
pics can be uploaded if needed she's up to date with jabs, worming, and flea's

Re: Biting hind legs with bald patch
It could well be a reaction to the paint - when did that happen?

whatever the cause, be careful about letting her chew the paw. when Herman first adopted me he had a staff (no pun intended) infection that resulted from his paw chewing. they carry staff and strep in their mouths and can infect themselve when they are bleeding.

just a few days ago, as soon as i saw it we cleaned her leg maybe less than a minute it was on her the bald patch has shown up over 24 hours
i did out a plaster on it if you look at the thread " how to keep dogs warm" you can see it there, i used a tiny smear of vix vapour rub on the outside of the plaster to deter her from pulling it off

Re: Biting hind legs with bald patch
I'd say it was definitely a reaction to the paint - it doesn't have to be there long.
Try cleaning it with a warm salt water solution, patting dry & then rub some Sudocrem on it.
