Bit worried Empty Bit worried

Post by Cherry Boo Thu Mar 21 2013, 10:22

Saffy is coming to the end of her first season and has refused her food since Tuesday. She slept alot yesterday and doesn't seem quite herself this morning.
We had an unusual day yesterday in terms of her routine but this has never seemed to worry her before. Presumed if it was that then she would have been hungry today.
The other half seems to think I'm being overly anxious but I'm inclined to take her for a check over as she usually loves her food. He says it could just be her hormones settling (he has had dogs before, she's my first).
What do you guys think?

She is pooing but just like little cat poos, I presume because she's eaten so little. Drinking is fine, maybe slightly more than usual but then i could be noticing because i watching if you know what i mean :-)

Go with your gut feeling, have you tried her on some scrambled egg?

If she is drinking normally I wouldn't be too worried. You could try adding a bit of a treat to her food to entice her to eat

In agreement with Janey and J, don't worry too much. Scrambled egg is always a winner with Logan, and a couple of slices of ham, should get her eating again.

Thanks Smile I'll mix some egg in with a bit of her usual food and see how she goes.
Usually I'm a bit wary of giving her extras as we did it when she was younger and then she expected it. If we gave her plain kibble she just looked at us like we were evil Big Grin

My mums bitch (not a staffy) behaves very strangely and completely out of character when she is in season.
