should i be worried? Empty should i be worried?

one of Bruiser nipples is quite red, and has a little rashy area around it, none of the other nipples look this way and i must say it does stand out. my partner showed me when i got home from work. Should we be worried? i wondering if he has just been scartching at it.
Hes up to date with flea treatment, but ive noticed he is scratching and biting hes tail. do you think maybe he needs a different flea treatment?
im just worried about hes little nipple!

Scratching and biting the base of the back/top of tail can be a sign of blocked anal glands if he hasnt got fleas. Not a clue about the red nipple though.

Never had a boy but sometimes if there biting at the bottom of the tail it could be blocked glands. You can try yourself but I prefer to take mine to the vets and see a nurse as its not very nice for you.

Maybe he could have scratched his nipple, Moo's under belly looks a mess after real romps.

Try smoothing some sudocrem over the nipple area. If it hasn't cleared over the weekend, I'd get it looked at by the vet. It's probably just been scratched & got a bit sore, but if it carries on it could be a slight infection & might need some antibiotics.

Try the cream first, though - it's cheaper than your vet! Big Grin

The glands just under tail & inside her rectum produce an oil every time she has a poo which eases the passage of the poo (there we go, we're talking poo again! Big Grin ). Sometimes they can get blocked & it can cause some itchiness & discomfort.

You can empty the glands yourself (there are plenty of sites online that tell you how) but it's very messy and very smelly! Personally I've always let the vet do that - he's paid for it, I'm not! Laughing

If there are no signs of fleas I wouldn't give him any more treatments for them. The chemicals can make the skin sensitive for a while. I don't give Dempsey any flea treatment at all unless I think he might have a problem.

My old boy Bandit only ever had one dose of fleas & that was when my sister in law looked after him for a week. She had 3 cats who were never traeted & were running alive with them!

ive figured it out! its the bloody harness rubbing on hes nipple! Bruiser pulls like crazy when we walk him so he has a harness on rather than collar....its not to tight around hes middle its just where hes pulling so much...shall i change to a collar? hmmm, the sudocream seems to be working as the nipple has a scabby apearence consistent with healing

What sort of harness do you use? Is it padded? If not then the size maybe wrong for Bruiser. If its rubbing already and the sudocream has helped by scabbing then useing the harness again will just rub of the scab and you'll be back to square one again. x
