Head collar help plssss
Hi all hope everyones enjoying hating the snow like us
Can anyone recommend a "good" head collar for Mr Kodi (11mths), He cannot be walked on a collar cos he just acts like an idiot to be blunt , He walks lovely on a harness but perosnally I like to walk him with a head collar as I have full control of the teeth end, NOT that he's nasty but he (as some already know) can be a little picky with men that get to close to me, He has seen a behavourist about this and its simply "trying his luck".
At the moment I use a halti but ive noticed its starting to rub slightly, so before I go buy 1 of each on the market has anyone got any recommedations please???

I could recommend the canny collar as we have used one on Rocky with good success.

I use halti as well but try switching to coller half hour in to walk. Marley pulls lkke a steam train but that method works well with him... If he starts pulling again simply getting it out stops him in his tracks

I use Haltis with my girls but the canny collar and indi-dog head collar look good. the indi-dog one looks comfortable. Like Nathan says try collar half way through walk. Leave the halti on so Mr Kodi thinks he is still on the halti, that works with Lily

We Used Haltis with the Rotties and yes they did rub, but I lined them with lambskin and that stopped the rubbing.

We have a halti, a slightly bigger size than recommended for the breed as Rolo's cheeks are so wide... he doesn't like it, but he behaves better with it on... he's very good ... but see's another dog or someone he knows ... and he's off at full pelt to say hello...

I haven't had to use a head collar for either of mine but my trainer recommends the S.W.A.G head collar, I have seen it used on all kinds of dogs, from small dogs through to great danes and it really does work

At all about dogs in norwich last summer a poor woman was dragged by our arena by her great dane a 12 month old pup, Sharon put her own great danes head collar on it, and the woman was able to walk him without any pulling within a couple of minutes.
