Is this common?

Just sat watching tv and Moo starts barking at an unknown hidden in the bedroom. Curtains are closed so there is nothing to be boofing at! Got up and told her I would check it out and she scurry's into the room, on the bed and sits like a queen Laughing

Stupid dogs! Laughing

I'd say it's common Janey. Dogs can hear things we can't and sometimes it disturbs them although we can't always work out why. Something in the street, something on the TV, something from a few houses across from us.

They've told us, we've checked it out and reassured them it's nothing to do with US - as much as we can do.

Yes, if only we could hear what dogs can hear we'd be inundated with noise!

do you have foxes in the neighbourhood Janey? The vixens are searching for mates right now and make the most hideous screaming noises at night, very high pitched and they are driving Kuchar nuts! (Woof woof). If they are screaming some way off we might not hear them, but our dogs can!

Lola gives a very deep growl, then a half arsed woofle.

this is if the heating makes a noise.

or someone walks up the stairs.

or puts a plate on the sink.

or sneezes.

or breathes.

definitely a common trait. Lola barked last week, it echoed round the room and she jumped, then growled and went searching for the bark...

Tommy has been doing a series of almost silent barks for the last few mornings as if something is bothering him but he knows it's not that major , sat on the bed ...gruff and another and another , off to wander , then back on the bed for another round

Laughing Bella is the same. I don't know how many times I've went into a room to see what she is barking at and she's standing barking at the wall.
