Re: raw meats
I saw a wife swap where a family in the states out on a farm ate everything raw including chicken. They said they never got ill, I don't think I would like the texture - even if it didn't do any harm!

Re: raw meats
You can, but you run the risk of food poisoning like Salmonella. It would have to be really fresh - I couldn't do it myself.

Re: raw meats
I've been eating it raw since i was little, I've had all the common ones including chicken.
The only one i don't like is turkey, but i don't like it cooked much either

Taste wouldn't be a prob for me if it was really fresh (which with them living on a farm it was, they killed their own chicken and ate it that day now that's how to eat meat!) but I wouldn't like the texture at all I don't think.

Re: raw meats
to me the texture is a hell of a lot nicer raw, I hate really chewy tough meat, so even when i have it cooked it's got to be mega rare!

Might have a nibble of the mince next time I'm making lasagne, it looks a benign enough start. Just casually start grazing on it while the oh looks puzzled
That's a tempting idea!

Re: raw meats
I have ate raw meat before, i went through a mad meat phase and couldn't eat enough meat, thought i was going to turn into a pig! Then one day i said enough and i have't ate a bit of meat for abuot 3 years now lol
Its quite nice raw, and burns more calories to digest. Thats why the cave people cooked it, they needed to conserve energy to move and hunt /keep warm so couldn't waste them on digestion.

I do eat a far amount of raw bacon, but not sure I'd much on raw chicken, agree with the beef its not worth eating if a good vet couldn't save it!!

Does raw meat taste the same as when it's cooked, just a different texture, or no?
I'd try it to be honest. Not chicken, but other meat. The texture might freak me out a bit, but I doubt it. Certainly worth a try. I like steak rare anyway, so maybe it's just a small step towards it

Re: raw meats
no it doesn't taste the same, it's got a much softer texture. It does taste an awful lot nicer raw to me, but it certainly isn't for everyone!
