Not pooping
Hi people Bella had her Patella operated on 16 days ago and she was on Metacam for 5 days before she got severe
diarrhea, 24 hours no food first meal of chicken and rice and it turned it bloody. Took her to vet and he gave her
injection, tablets and the dreaded pink binding stuff. Well her appetite is not good she's drinking like a fish and hasn't
been for a pooh for 6 days today. She has no urges to go no bloated belly or lumpy belly she is happy and wants to play
We are off to the vet again tomorrow. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the outcome , we are so frustrated.

Re: Not pooping
Metacam can do funny things to some dogs, as can surgery & anti biotics (which I assume she also had). You could try giving her some offal to see if it will clear her through gently.
Otherwise, the vets will be able to give you something.

Thanks, she had a blood free soft pooh last night... Celebration!! We called the vet and he said she may be drinking heaps due to her meds which she finished two days ago also not good that she went so long without pooping. We are to watch her and if she doesn't go normally take her back in a few days... Well she had lamb pieces for breakfast... Didn't eat... Tried her with chicken mince spaghetti, canned artimus lamb, dry food, won't eat... Bought her quarter roast chicken ate little bit. Any ideas how to get her to eat again it's driving me to tears.
