Fostering Baloo
Thanks are due, as ever, to Steve and the moderators/admins of this board for allowing me to mention this foster, who is looking for a loving, forever home.
Larger than an average staffy, Baloo looks to have labrador in him. He is on foster in the Cambridgeshire area.
He's a clever boy - knows sit, stay, lie down, dinner, paw, bed and bark - and probably lots more that I haven't even thought of yet.
A bit overweight and in need of a balanced diet and sufficient exercise, Baloo looks to be somewhere around middle age, though his teeth look quite good.
He's very affectionate, is being gentle around the house, and is currently snoring with his back half on the doggie bed and his front half on my feet.
Baloo is on short-term foster with me.

Re: Fostering Baloo
He's being very good here.
Snores a bit - probably because he's overweight - but I'm weighing his food and he has more chance of winning the lottery than getting table scraps.
I might have a beautiful EBT bitch here in a couple of weeks time, Caryll. I challenge you not to get all gooey over her - she is absolutely beautiful.

Re: Fostering Baloo
I'll see if I can get a pic of her - she only came in yesterday and is sitting in the back of her kennel at the moment - a bit unsure.
Show Dempsey the pic and he might say: "Wellllll, I might be prepared to give this sharing a try."

Re: Fostering Baloo
Just been to the park.
Baloo carried his ball all the way there and back.
While he was there, the man who empties the poop bins arrived.
Baloo wandered over to him and gave him another little gift, right beside his feet.
Was most embarrassing.
The bloke cracked up laughing though, so all good - as I scurried around on hands and knees, poop bag in hand.

She is an EBT cross, as it turns out.
Constance is her name and she's quite frightened at the moment, but has been letting the rescue staff handle her.
I think she's beautiful.

Re: Fostering Baloo
Lol, Kathy. 'Tis a familiar sight all right.
Well, Baloo went to the pet shop today to get a grooming kit, and then sat for nearly 50 minutes loving every second of the comb and two brushes. Flicky tongue thing non-stop.
He gave up enough loose hair to make a yorkie out of and is currently revelling in his status as shiniest dog in the area.

Re: Fostering Baloo
I went to see him today - he's in with a mastiff female and they seem to get on great.
He should have visitors tomorrow and, just as I was leaving the rescue, another family phoned as well.
So, hopefully, my little man will have a forever home by tomorrow lunchtime.

Re: Fostering Baloo
Could mods/admin move this to the rehomed section please.
This little man has found a forever home with a lovely, caring family.
And best of all, they only live down the road from me and have invited me round any time to see how he's getting on.

Re: Fostering Baloo
I've seen pictures of him in his new home. He looks very settled.
His new mate, a little Jack Russell terrier thinks he's a bed.
Here's a message from his new owners:
Thank you, yes he is certainly going to get a lot of TLC here, our daughter adores him already lol
She thinks its funny when he holds his paw up to shake.
Have just added the photo of him being used as a bed by Roo, a testament to how placid he is.
He found his voice late last night and my word what a deep bark he has, but as soon as he was told all is ok he settled again. He loves laying on our feet, we've found the spot you was on about where you tickle and his back leg twitches.
Could you let me know roughly what times of day his meals were as we want to try and keep to that routine for him?
And yes you're more than welcome to come around and see him, I'm sure he'll be happy to see you.
And sure the kettle will be on
