Our new addition & Fostering
I have lost 3 dogs, a mixed variety, a lurcher and a dobie from a pup. My dobie had to be put to sleep aged 12.5 years old:/ Our home seemed empty and we saw a plight of a particular trust on the net and went to look at several dogs mainly staffies and took them all out for a walk.
My OH and myself decided we would foster dogs from this trust, they are amazing and extremely loving to the dogs as volunteers. We wanted to get a dog out of kennels and foster until he/she has found their forever home. When the dog is found a new home then we foster another, so in fact we save a dog and it lets up free kennel space for another dog.
It is a difficult decision and not to be taken lightly, we have been back several times and changed our minds because of circumstances either the dogs or ours. We are going back to kennels weds this week to sign the fostering papers and the dog will be with us on the 8th february.
The dog is a bitch, 6-8 years old staffie cross, loads of energy, friendly with dogs and adores people. I will post pics up as soon as i can for you to see her.
Really looking forward to this adventure in our lives, we passed the house inspection with flying colours. I look forward to reading up on all your posts, and thank you for reading mine.
We are saving a girl who was originally on death row before going to the trust, we feel very happy that we as a couple can help, these dogs are amazing:)

Re: Our new addition & Fostering
Well done for fostering, your work is extremely valued and for people who cannot commit to full ownership of a dog an excellent way to help out a rescue centre and the dogs there that need a break from kennel life. Many thanks to you both for taking the time out to help those less fortunate.

She is gorgeous, well done to you for fostering. You will be able to provide invaluable info to potential new owners as you have lived with her in a home environment. They only get to see so much of them in kennels, especially if the dog is stressed in there. Well done.
