Poorly Puppy
Took Benson to his puppy class last night, sat down... He was sick, then he seemed ok so carried on 15 mins later was sick again so decided to take him home and was sick in car, he then perked up a bit and was stealing all washing off dryer and playing ate some boiled chicken and rice and went bed. Was then sick twice in night, phoned 24h vets but is waiting for 9am to go vets so hopefully his fine. He gets very quiet and sleepy and then decides when his hungry and wants to play for a few mins.

Re: Poorly Puppy
24 hour vet reckons its gastroenteritis, just hope it's not something he ate and shouldn't have like off the street

Re: Poorly Puppy
Gastroenteritis would normally mean the runs as well, so hopefully not that.

Re: Poorly Puppy
They gave him a injection to stop him feeling sick, couldnt feel anything stuck but was very tense, so said no food for 12 hours (could be trouble lol) BUT if sick or diarrhea then ring vet ASAP
His sleep at the moment, he hasnt been sick lately and kept last lot of food down so thats good

Re: Poorly Puppy
Our puppy who was a rescue had a dodgy tummy, no sickness but the runs for days and despite injections and paste from the vets it got no better, until we took her off puppy food and have been feeding her rice and boiled chicken with some boiled veg mushed in, banana now and again and half a clove of garlic twice a week. In less than 3 weeks she is now doing loads better and has gained 1.5kg and is full of energy. We are now trying to bring in some hypoallergenic puppy food very slowly.
Hope your pup gets better soon, my advice is feed very small portions more often and start off with rice and chicken as its gentler than puppy food.
