Dilema
My son returns to college soon and his timetable has changed, which is now going to result in Caley being home alone for 6 hours on a Monday - not happy. The rest of the week she will be alone for a maximum of 4 hours for one day and a couple of hours for the other days. She is now 5 months old.
I really don't know what to do, I don't want her crated this long. So I am considering the following two options:
1) Doggy Day Care - not sure if there will be places, but we found a place locally, but feel a bit nervous about it.
2) Dog Walker - I am thinking of letter her have the run of the kitchen with her crate open and getting a dog walker to come in for an hour on a Monday to take her for a walk and give her cuddles.
I feel worried sick about this and want to make sure she is OK ....flaming colleges, I had it all sorted beforehand as well.

Re: Dilema
If you can afford it i'd have a dog walker, or a family member/friend come and let her out for a wee and possibly a little walk/play

Re: Dilema
I'd go for the dog walker as well - but make sure you get good references from others that have used them.

Re: Dilema
Many thanks. I have phoned one dog walker and come of the phone upset, she would not take a staffy...grrrrrrr
However, found another one that appears to be CRB checked and takes on the big dogs, staffies, German Shepherds etc, so will check that one out and see what they say.

Re: Dilema
Ideally they will be eCRB checked - much more comprehensive than CRB (the e standing for enhanced).

Yeah, definitely At home!
I leave bode with a quilt down and the whole kitchen if I go out.
Maybe there is a member on here local who you could get to know personally and wouldnt mind helping out, or in fact would enjoy it lol

Re: Dilema
Would go with a recommended dog walker too, the best option I think.

Re: Dilema
TBH 6 hours a day 1 day a week isn't going to hurt, and dogs really do adapt to there schedules If you can trust Caley in a room let her have the space, maybe test how much space she can have. I rely on walkers/friends with Moo but the odd days that I am stuck, she is ok and 6 hrs is fine imo
