Refusing to walk unless there are other people or dogs around him
My 13 week old pup Milo is refusing to walk in quiet places, where there are no other people or dogs. As he is small and cute he often gets lots of attention on walks, which he loves! When there is no one around to get this stimulation then he puts on the breaks and refuses to walk. Any ideas? as it would be good to resolve it as he is young and learning?

Have you tried holding a treat in your fist and letting him smell and than follow?

Do you have a small hand held radio you could take with you. Find a station that has a lot of talking on it? Radio 4 might help there, This may give him the allusion of other people being around.

that's what i did with Jelly and it worked. from about 11 weeks until maybe 16 or so weeks, we struggled both because the weather was CRAP and she just wouldn't walk for us, only if another dog was around to follow or if we bribed her with treats
another thing that worked was when we started taking her to a pet sitter once or twice a week who had other dogs around, we noticed even at home her walking improved when it was just us and now she's becoming a pro. just hang in there, it's most likely a phase. it's just not interesting enough to your pup yet, but it will kick in I'm sure of it.

Hiya and welcome from and Moo
Been so long since I had a pup but I am sure Milo will come round, make yourself the funnest person to be around, and if there is no one around you can't look silly lol
