Nice People on walk
Nice story for a change, Claire and I were out walking the boys in the woods today. Nice and quite and they were bounding around all over having fun when I saw a couple approaching us, i didnt see another dog so we didnt bother leading the boys up. Just as we got close a little westie type dog but smaller came running out from the side. Now as Marley is still a pup and quite boistrous and Riley likes to hump anything that moves my heart sank and I went for the dogs to lead them up as the dog was tiny.
Just as I was doing so the woman said no no leave them she'll be okay she knows how to look after herself she'll be okay. nearly ignored her but thought well she knows her own dog better than me and left the boys alone. sure enough this tiny tiny little dog was holding off Marley's curiosity and Rileys "love" moves. it didnt bark just sat there snapping but not actually trying to bite. before long the boys had given up but then it wanted its turn and was chasing them about...the most bizaar scene ever. two big lads being chased around by a tiny fluffy girl you could practically hold in your hand. I think confidence must play a big big part in dog pyscology and this little lass had it by the bucket load. Hats of to the woman though she obviously knows her dog and isnt one of those "ooh a big dog I'll pick mine up" sort of person.

It does make a change, sadly, to read a story like this. They were obvioulsy as you said people who know their dogs.

Re: Nice People on walk
Sounds like a rare encounter with a logical owner. I usually lead mine up to avoid the nail biting of the other owner and their hystarical eyes even though my two just want to play. Would have been fun to watch!

I would have been taking her pic and sending it to a "good dog owners" competition!
