need help, issues with the tail.
As of a year ago, my staff started to have issues with his tail, we took him to several different vets, and they are all saying that he has glands on the tail and nothing can be done. but its not getting any better.
picture attached, maybe someone can recommend something or knows what to do.
Much appreciated.

Re: need help, issues with the tail.
Ooo that looks sore.
Staffords do get a baldish/fur thinning look patch on their tails and this is something most if not all get to a certain decree, but your boys patch looks infected in some way.
Maybe try bathing in some hibi scrub twice a day pat dry and apply some sudocreme.

you could try feeding oily fish, or tinned in oil once or twice a week, it does help dry skin and promotes a healthy coat and replenishes oils thats lost through washing on the dogs skin

Re: need help, issues with the tail.
Hi and welcome from us and Suki. Have you tried consulting a vet that only deals with skin issues?

Re: need help, issues with the tail.
It looks like 'stud tail' that has been rubbed and/or become inflamed.
Is it greasy to touch? Stud tail can be an indication of a thyroid problem but if your vet has checked for that then it probably is just an over active gland - the gland produces too much oil which creates a breeding ground for infection.
Apparently, one of the best ways to get rid is to rub it with a little olive oil daily. Washing with something that will dry the skin out is counterproductive as it will encourage more oils to be produced although maybe required to begin with if it is infected (I can't really tell if it's infected from the picture although it certainly looks inflamed).

Re: need help, issues with the tail.
It certainly looks uncomfortable. Have you tried camrosa ointment on it :

Camrosa will ship anywhere in the world, but I don't know how much they charge. The above link will take you to their dog page. I'm sure they'll tell you how much the shipping will be if you contact them. They're a fairly small family firm so they have a lot of time for individual enquiries & are usually happy to advise you.
