Whereabouts is the thinning? Is it just hair loss, or is it sore or dry?

It doesnt seem to be sore and it is near the base of the tail . I noticed that the tail seemed bent but on closer inspection it was the hair loss.im wondering if its malting first?

Could be a slight attack of mites - nothing to worry about!

The two most common areas for demodectic mites to multiply is the base of the tail (about an inch or so down) and on top of the head. Mostly in youngsters it's just a bit of hair loss & then their immune system kicks in & it goes.

As long as it doesn't start to get sore or irritate him I wouldn't worry. Obviously if it gets worse, or he starts to bite at it, then a quick trip to the vets will see him right!

This was what I thought too, have you seen her chew or lick at the area? Or even rubbing at it against a fence for example. My last dog did this loads tbh.
