indestructible or longer lasting dog toys.
hi all, i would like to know what toys you have found that dont have to be thrown into the bin after a few minutes.
i have the xxl kong extreme that works very well not as much a tooth mark on it yet. also very large rope toys seem to last a few weeks.
what else have you found that works
many thanks
luke

We got Rocky a couple of these Chuck It balls 18 months ago and they are still the same as new:

As for a chew toy, this wants some beating. The stag bar is great:

I have these for Moo, do use them outside though as they can leave a mark on the carpet

Re: indestructible or longer lasting dog toys.
Stag bars are good. The girls have a ball that cost a fiver, it might be like a boomer ball. It is larger than a tennis ball and made of tough plastic but hollow. They can carry it but because its big they cant chew it, just chase it. it is v noisy on laminate but they like the noise.

I second the Stag Bar, Bailey loves his but I'm thinking he needs the bigger size! Gave him his large sized one in the middle of May and he's halfway through it already

Kong dental stick is still going well... we put meat paste in the grooves sometimes, but he's still just as happy to roll on his back and hold it in his mouth whilst chewing it The Kong Wubba was pants, didn't even last 2 minutes... I took that back!

Rocky loved playing with his on the snow back in the wintertime over at the park.
We bought it for him for Christmas last year.

Nothing other than what's already mentioned. Suki's favorites are ropes or anything she can play tug with.

Re: indestructible or longer lasting dog toys.
good quality tennis balls (sports direct do donney ones for 39p each), when Lola bites them they just squash and rebound back into shape, as opposed to the pets at home variety that split in two as soon as she grabs them.
and another vote for stag bar, bought her one this morning, she's been at it most of the day and barely dented it

Somebody else has said the same about the Tennis balls and the quality , we've never really bothered with them though as Tilly chases but doesnt fetch , TBH we buy a small hard sponge ball for 50p evry Sunday when we do our lakeside walk from our local small shop, she normally kills it or loses it whilst we are out and thats the end of that, but she does love her Boomer ball, just bought Tommy a red on identical in size just so they know whose is whose.
Think I'm going to have to try the Stag bar as well though as so many people rate them

Tyre n Chew Rocky loves these
the-virtually-indestructiball : looks similar to a boomer ball. Great fun in the snow.
nylabone-big-dogs-beef-bone: Rockys had a similar product lasted very well, great for chewers.

Re: indestructible or longer lasting dog toys.
We take 2 tennis balls and a racket up to the playing fields near us and bat the balls for Lola almost everyday.50 yards at a time one after the other ,quick succession.40 minutes and she's knackered lol.
You can bulk buy at JJB 2 doz. for a fiver and they last ages.
Try doing the crossbar challenge from the centre circle (hitting the top of the goal crossbar with a tennis ball from the half way line) i've managed it about 5 times (100's of attempts) Lola brings 'em back for retry.
Must get a vid. of that, proper entertainment and Lola runs miles

I'm a petrol head and if you know anyone else who is, here's a wee tip...
Go to a local go kart track and ask them to keep the old tires when they're done with them, just tell them the truth that it's for your dog :-D Meiko has had his for over a year now. He throws it, chases it, fetches it and chews it

Tyres don't last long with Dempsey, I'm afraid.

Re: indestructible or longer lasting dog toys.
Ordered the goughnut ring and stick. He has chewed the stick for the last couple of days and had a bit of a go at the ring - both still intact. So highly recommend them. The only other things he couldn't destroy was a bento ball and a kong extreme. He also likes stag bars. I did buy a kong exteme ball, but he managed to bite a piece of that off.

Buster has these balls from amazon... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kong-KB2-Ball-Small/dp/B0002DHOJU/ref=sr_1_53?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1348777975&sr=1-53
They are great and he has had one of them for nearly 2 years now and not managed to destroy it. You can also put hide treats in it through the hole in the middle. I have even put yoghurt in it and froze it...he loved trying to get it out afterwards!! They really are Staffy proof! :-)
Here he is digging it up after we hid it in the sand!! It has a strong rubber smell and he can sniff it out anywhere

Gave Densil my old hard hat - within minutes he had managed to get some of the webbing out of the hat and was gnawing at the plastic so I took it away as I was worried he might swallow the bits. Took the rest of the inside bits out and gave him that hat back today - he's not a bit interested in it now!

I bought Densil a kong extreme ball - the black one. Only took him about 5 minutes to cut a chunk out of it, he sure has a good set of teeth. The only thing so far he hasn't destroyed is the goughnut stick.

Wilkinsons do some heavy rubber balls and they are only about £1.10 so not too bad Ledger had a red and blue one that had got a few teeth marks from our jaunts to the park so I got a new orange one however that has just been pulled to pieces on the carpet!

My son gave Buster a motorbike tyre which is kept in the garden and he tries to drag around!!! Not managed to get through that one!!!! But it is too big for the house. I tried the stag bar after recommendations on here, but he isn't interested in it!!! Also got him an 8" boomer ball but he got bored with that one too Sticking with the kong balls as they are the best that I've found

I can highly recommend an old Mini suspension rubber cone, they are a very resilient rubber, this one has lasted years. You just need to get the steel bits out of them by heating up and softening the glue and they come out.

Molly seems to prefer edible chews to toy chews but loves a good tuggy or tennis ball. Both are killed within a few days, tennis balls have been known to last 5 minutes once her teeth get into them!

We have a bacon flavoured bubble blower. My dog goes nuts. You can get other flavoures (peanut butter, bbq chicken etc). Gets them running and jumping wears them out and is funny as hell to watch.

Hi
I bought my last staffie max the kongs. He destroyed both colours within 5 minutes. I ended up having to get him a bog standard good quality rubber ball .

Re: indestructible or longer lasting dog toys.
I bought Lola a stag bar & it lasted 4 hours!
I personally can't back the kongs & nylabones enough!!
She's got 3 nylabones & I've just thrown out 1 that was well & truly chewed but it lasted 7 months

I just bought a battery operated gun which blows bacon flavoured bubbles and Densil loves it - can't find any other flavours though -we are in UK.
