Weird bald lump
Hi guys...
Over the last day or so I've noticed a hard bald lump appear on Ralph's head. It's very small - about the size of a top of a match. It literally just appeared one morning and I wondered if he'd hit his head - but it has the appearance of a sort of wart. It doesn't have a 'head' on it like a spot we would have, but I kind of scratched the surface off it and gave it a little squeeze and a bit of * blood came out of it.
When I gave it a little scratch and squeeze - it didn't bother Ralph at all and he seems to have not even noticed it. I am a bit worried about it though - but don't want to fly down the vets at every little thing like some nutty parent! Anyone have any ideas what it is - or seen anything similar? Your help is so appreciated.
Tried to take a photo - although they are not that clear...
Ralph is 13 weeks.
Thanks, Jo

Re: Weird bald lump
Could be an insect bite, or even a wart! You could always go & see a veterinary nurse to see if it's worth seeing a vet.

Re: Weird bald lump
It could be anything from an infected hair follicle, to a scratch to the head from say a rose bush.
Try not to pick it any more but bathe it in either a bit of tepid salty water or if you have any hibi scrub bathe it in that twice a day.
But just keep an eye on it, fingers crossed it starts to dry up and disappear. But if it looks to be growing or weeping then its a trip to the vets for Ralph.

It could be alot of different things but likely not a big issue. If it gets larger or is bothering him I'd go to the vet

Denise gave some really good advice. Sometimes their skin can just be sensitive like human skin. Watch it and if it begins to get better, you are good! If it worsens, take him in.

Looks like the insect bites my girls get sometimes. I just clean it with salty water or ultra-diluted antiseptic and then put a good dollop of sudocrem on. we love sudocrem here, works for loads of issues!

Re: Weird bald lump
If in doubt put sudocrem on it, not only will this soothe irritation but it acts as a barrier too.
Often mine get strange lumps bumps n spots but they tend to resolve themselves.

Re: Weird bald lump
It looks very like the start of what both my boys have had, a benign tumor. Kaos had one under his arm pit which got huge! They are only normally supposed to grow to about the size of a 5/1p piece, they then stay the same for 8/10 weeks ish then slowly just get smaller and disapear and normally dont need any vet treatment, they are neat and circler in shape and are not deep rooted. As i say kaos's got about the size of at least a golf ball and got infected etc so had to have his removed but Ty had one on his cheek which grew and then started to shrink then disapeared.
