My poor friend got bitten.
There's an elderly man who comes in to the office most weeks & over the last 7 years I've got to know him quite well. He's a lovely man, very kind & quiet, does so much for charity it's unbelievable.
Anyway, he (Frank) was delivery some flyers for the church (free garden party next weekend) and he called out to a guy who was just opening his front door "Would you like a flyer for our Garden Party?" Just as he said it, a dog rushed out of the door & launched itself at Frank & sunk its teeth into his leg. Poor Frank, being over 80 years old, couldn't keep his feet & went down. The dog immeduately let go of his leg & attacked his upper arm. The owner yelled "No, no, no!" & rugby tackled the dog. He got bitten himself whilst he tried to put the dog back in the house.
Then believe it or not, he just went in & shut the door, leaving an elderly man on the floor with his leg & arm bleeding very badly. He managed to get himself to a nearby dementia place where he knew there would be somebody preparing meals & knocked on their door. Luckily they were nice people & wrapped his injuries up while they waited for an ambulance & the police.
He had to have 15 stitches! & a drip to make sure that he didn't go into shock because of his age.
The police have taken statements from Frank & other people who say that the dog has done this before.
Poor Frank, he loves dogs & always makes such a fuss of Dempsey when he comes into the office - Dempsey is so good with him, very quiet & gentle - he didn't stand a chance of defending himself. He was very, very scared.
I don't know what sort of dog it was, but from the little that Frank remembers of the look of the dog I would say that it is almost certainly a staff or staff x.

He's very shaken, but he's more worried that the dog might be pts because of him. He's such a nice man.

I cannot believe the guy just shut the door thats terrible, how irresponsible. The dog of course will get all the blame and the owner will get off scott free. Poor Frank, sending wishes for a speedy recovery and hope he is not put off all dogs and making a fuss of Dempsey.

Re: My poor friend got bitten.
That's so sad that some people just have no respect or decency in them for anyone these days let alone the elderly
