Staffy serious hair loss
Hi Folks,
New to the site and have just posted an introduction, I have a 6/7/8 year old female staffy that was a rescue case here in Ireland. Last year she was quite ill and was rushed to the vet on a Sunday morning due to heavy discharge. As it turned out her womb needed to be removed and after a few weeks she was much better again. She had (in the past) issue's with seasonal hair loss and it always grew back. However for the last 6 months she has lost huge amounts of hair on her flanks and up onto her back? she has been for two bloodtests which have come back as inconclusive both times, a side not is also she seems to be gone extremely lazy and prone to overheating even after a short walk. We are at our wits end and hope someone may be able to point us in the right direction.
Cheers
Niall

Re: Staffy serious hair loss
We had a dog that lost hair in a similar pattern due to an allergy to the cleaning products used on the floors.

Hi folks,
Apologies that I havent been able to return in a while. Lucey was given medication for hypo thoyroidism (spelling!) and although her energy levels are good now, the hair loss has got an awful lot worse and is now meeting on her back, she is in good form and doesnt seem to mind, we have consulted several vets but nobody has any idea! any help appreciated!

Re: Staffy serious hair loss
Glad her energy levels are good again.
What food is she on? Could it be an allergy to an ingredient. Do0 you add any oils to her food?

I don't know if you can get this in Australia, but it might be worth a try...

Re: Staffy serious hair loss
Where on earth did I get Australia from?
I haven't used it but I've heard a lot of good reports about it. I've used their joint formula (Yumove) and that seems pretty good.
