Biting his bum
my snoop has been biting his bum and its been going bald we have flead him over and over and gave him so many treatments but he still keeps doing it. I have came to the conclusion its my carpet what could it be???

my friend had this with her lab,she thought it was her rug cos she used shake n vake on it,she stopped using it and also switched foods to james well beloved and the problem cleared up,just a thought.

Whereabouts on his bum does he chew? Is it at the base of the tail, or his anus?

If he is rubbing him bum across the floor as well his glads could be impacted

Millie done that when her glands needed emptied. She made herself all sore biting at it.

the base of the tail at the top the vet said he might need his glands cleaned but to give it a couple of weeks after we gave him a bath

If it's the base of the tail at the top then I doubt it's glands - that would be around the sides etc. Usually the base of the tail would indicate fleas or an allergy. Have you checked for any sign of fleas? Dark spots like miniscule bits of dirt or the horrible things themselves?
To make it a little less irritating for him try rubbing a little sudocrem or vaseline on the area.

yeh we keep on top of fleas as he seems to attract them al give that a try could it be that hes molten
